Silenced is committed to investing our expertise and resources into research, training and campaigning to enable us to bring greater awareness and meaningful changes to support our vision.
“For all frontline staff working with children, young people and families to have a greater understanding of Child to Parent Violence and Abuse”.
Initially we began by offering various training to foster carers and training for professionals working with families experiencing violence and abuse in the family home.
We realised that we could offer more by working with professionals to develop greater knowledge and skills by:
-
Delivering purposeful training and programmes for parents & young people – with a running theme of race, religion, culture & intersectionality
-
Enhancing support and positive outcomes for the families and individuals that practitioners work with.
-
Transforming ways of practice - ensuring all training & programmes are trauma informed.
-
Supporting organisations to set up their own Child to Parent Violence and Abuse programmes (challenging children and young peoples abusive behaviours)
-
Research on adult child to parent violence and the barriers to support
Imagine what we can achieve together! keep updated on our work and current training for professionals and Parent & Young people programmes.
