What the data says?
Child and Adult Child to Parent & Care Giver Abuse remains poorly recognised and inconsistently understood across services. This can leave families without support and practitioners without confidence.
69%
of victims of CPCA were females (Recorded Data, London – CPA cases, 2022)
41%
of domestic abuse victims reported abuse from a family member
81%
of those reported for CPCA
were male (Recorded Data, London – CPA cases, 2022)
48%
Of healthcare-reviewed cases were wrongly recorded as general safeguarding rather than domestic abuse - ACPCA
What we do
Behaviour wheels
More than what we see

Looking beyond harmful behaviour:
Our Healthy and Unealthy Behaviour Wheels were developed to help families and professionals explore the wider patterns of behaviour that can exist within family relationships.
The Wheels look beyond a single incident or label. Together, they create space to recognise harmful patterns of power and control while also identifying behaviours that support safety, equality, respect and change.Grounded in response-based practice, the Wheels can support more nuanced conversations, helping practitioners remain curious about what is happening, how family members are responding and what may need to change.
Developed with insight from parents, carers and professionals, the Wheels have also been included as a practice resource in the MOPAC Adult-Child to Parent Abuse in London Good Practice Toolkit.
